In BattleBots® Camp Junior, young campers aged 7-9 enter the arena to design and engineer their own BattleBots® champions. Working in teams, students build and customize VEX IQ bots, learning about mechanical engineering principles and block coding. The curriculum, developed in partnership with BattleBots® experts, guides campers through creating unique robot characters with custom attachments. Throughout the week, bots will tackle various challenges, including driving maneuvers in a Simon Says game. The camp culminates in an exciting BattleBots®-style robot tournament where teams compete to see whose design reigns supreme. Campers gain hands-on experience with robotics hardware, programming fundamentals, and collaborative problem-solving, all while fostering creativity and critical thinking.
A typical day balances learning sessions in a lab with outdoor and recreational activities. Campers engage in hands-on workshops, team-building, and challenges, culminating in a BattleBots®-style tournament at the end of the week.
