The traineeship offers a unique pathway into cybersecurity by providing intensive training, academic credit from Northern Virginia Community College, and potential for paid on-the-job training with regional employers, even for those without prior experience.
The CCI NoVa Node Cybersecurity Traineeship is an intensive 7-week online bootcamp designed to prepare participants for entry-level cybersecurity roles. The program focuses on developing both technical and soft skills essential for a career in cybersecurity. Participants will receive hands-on training and instruction in key areas such as data analytics and visualization, networking and security, Python programming, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The curriculum is continuously adapted to meet the evolving needs of the tech sector through consultation with industry partners. Upon successful completion of the 7-week training, students earn academic credit through Northern Virginia Community College. Additionally, some participants may have the opportunity to engage in a subsequent 12-week paid on-the-job training with a regional cybersecurity employer, gaining valuable real-world experience. The program also provides career placement support, including resume development and interview preparation, to help connect trainees with the vast network of cybersecurity companies in the region.
Participants engage in 7 hours of daily class time, weekdays, and are expected to dedicate additional time outside of the virtual classroom for studying and completing homework.
This program is ideal for individuals without previous cybersecurity experience who are looking to transition into an entry-level role in the cybersecurity field in Virginia.
