In Club SciKidz NOVA's RPG Video Game Design camp, students in grades 4-7 learn to design and develop their own epic role-playing games. Using RPG Maker VXAce, campers will explore the history and basics of RPGs, focusing on storytelling, character creation, and game mechanics. The camp features a drag-and-drop interface, a library of characters, tile-based environments, an enhanced map editor, and a built-in character generator with custom sprites and faces. Students will also learn to create custom items, weapons, and a full inventory system. By the end of the week, campers will be able to export their finished game to a portable EXE file, allowing them to share their creations with friends and family on any Windows system.
