This program offers a unique combination of a virtual college preparation course and a paid virtual project-based internship at no cost to students.
NOVA's Summer College Prep & Virtual Internship Program is a six-week, no-cost program designed for rising high school juniors and seniors. It aims to strengthen academic preparedness and understanding of career pathways as students transition from high school to postsecondary education and the workforce. The program includes a virtual college preparation course (SDV 100) focusing on navigating college, developing study and time management strategies, exploring career pathways, and understanding college resources. Additionally, students complete a 50-hour paid virtual project-based internship, allowing them to work on real-world projects, collaborate with professionals, and develop essential workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and digital collaboration. By the end of the program, participants gain valuable hands-on experience, expand their professional networks, and develop skills crucial for success in college and future careers.
Students are expected to independently log in and complete synchronous and asynchronous expectations for the college preparation course and the virtual internship.
The program is best for rising high school juniors and seniors who are at least 16 years old and meet the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) readiness standards for enrollment.

Northern Virginia STEM Summer Camps is a free directory service that aggregates publicly available information about STEM programs, summer camps, and educational opportunities. We do not operate, sponsor, endorse, accredit, certify, or have any affiliation with the camps and programs listed here unless explicitly stated.
All program details — including pricing, session dates, instructor credentials, curriculum, safety policies, refund terms, transportation, meal arrangements, and admission requirements — are sourced from publicly available information and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Listings are partially generated and updated using automated AI-assisted research, which can occasionally produce inaccurate details. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for independently verifying every detail directly with the camp before enrolling, paying, or relying on any information shown here.
