Students will create their own playable 2D or 3D game and a custom-designed, screen-printed t-shirt by the end of the camp.
Students in the STEM exCEL - 3D Printing & Game Design Camp will learn to create 3D models and design complete, shareable games. The game design portion focuses on understanding game mechanics, player experience, art, and storytelling. Utilizing a professional game engine, students will progress from brainstorming to completion, learning programming logic and potentially the C# language for 2D or 3D games. For 3D printing, campers will explore the exciting world of screen printing and graphic design, bringing their ideas to life on real products. They will learn to design simple graphics, experiment with layouts, and use a screen press to print their own t-shirt, exploring colors, ink, and screen techniques like alignment and layering. The camp aims to develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence through hands-on projects.
A typical day involves hands-on projects where campers build robots, design video games, create 3D inventions, and tackle real-world engineering challenges through exciting daily rotations.
This camp is ideal for elementary-aged students (1st-6th graders) interested in a positive introduction to STEM topics, particularly those who enjoy hands-on projects, creative design, and problem-solving.

Northern Virginia STEM Summer Camps is a free directory service that aggregates publicly available information about STEM programs, summer camps, and educational opportunities. We do not operate, sponsor, endorse, accredit, certify, or have any affiliation with the camps and programs listed here unless explicitly stated.
All program details — including pricing, session dates, instructor credentials, curriculum, safety policies, refund terms, transportation, meal arrangements, and admission requirements — are sourced from publicly available information and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Listings are partially generated and updated using automated AI-assisted research, which can occasionally produce inaccurate details.
