About this camp

TIC Summer Camp offers a balanced program where campers engage in cutting-edge technology and high-energy athletic activities. Campers choose one technology option for the full two-week session, spending half the day on hands-on projects. This includes learning programming concepts, designing video games, and building robots. The camp emphasizes trial and error, critical thinking, and active problem-solving, often in collaborative settings where two campers share a computer to foster communication skills. The individualized instruction, with a 4:1 staff-to-camper ratio in technology, allows campers to deepen their knowledge without repetition, even if they repeat a tech option. The other half of the day is dedicated to athletics, offering a wide array of activities from traditional sports like soccer and basketball to non-traditional games, ensuring all campers, regardless of athletic ability, can participate and have fun. The program aims to foster creativity, personal growth, and teamwork, culminating in projects that are showcased at an Open House and uploaded online for families to view.

What a typical day looks like

The camp day runs from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with drop-off from 8:00-8:30 AM and pick-up from 3:00-3:15 PM. Campers spend approximately three hours each in their chosen technology program and athletic activities, with a lunch break from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
