About this camp

This program is designed for high-achieving high school students interested in advanced research at the intersection of biomedical science and data analytics. Participants will work in teams of 3-4, mentored by George Mason University scholars, physicians, and surgeons. The program emphasizes hands-on medical research using methodologies such as R/Python programming and large language models (LLMs) for biostatistical analysis and network modeling. Students will gain proficiency in selected medical topics, research tools, and data analysis techniques, culminating in a conference presentation at the National Students AI and Medical Informatics Conference and a final research paper submission. The immersive experience aims to expose students to real-world medical topics and develop technical skills and knowledge in biomedical and policy-relevant contexts.
