The camp provides hands-on experience with VEX V5 robotics, fostering critical STEM skills and preparing students for potential participation in VEX Robotics competitions.
The PWCS VEX V5 Summer Camp offers middle and high school students an immersive, hands-on experience in robotics. Participants engage in designing, building, and programming VEX V5 robots to tackle various engineering challenges. The curriculum emphasizes developing critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills through practical application. Students will gain experience with VEX V5 hardware, including metal components, motors, and sensors, and learn to program both autonomous and driver-controlled robot behaviors. The camp aims to strengthen engineering notebook skills and provide a foundational understanding of the design process crucial for success in VEX Robotics competitions. It's an opportunity to explore cutting-edge technology and apply real-world problem-solving strategies in a supportive environment.
Camps at Potomac High School run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., while camps at Gainesville Middle School run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.. Students will engage in hands-on design, coding, and engineering challenges with VEX V5 robots.
This camp is ideal for rising 6th through 12th graders who are new to VEX V5 robotics or are looking to develop and refine their foundational to advanced skills.

Northern Virginia STEM Summer Camps is a free directory service that aggregates publicly available information about STEM programs, summer camps, and educational opportunities. We do not operate, sponsor, endorse, accredit, certify, or have any affiliation with the camps and programs listed here unless explicitly stated.
All program details — including pricing, session dates, instructor credentials, curriculum, safety policies, refund terms, transportation, meal arrangements, and admission requirements — are sourced from publicly available information and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Listings are partially generated and updated using automated AI-assisted research, which can occasionally produce inaccurate details. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for independently verifying every detail directly with the camp before enrolling, paying, or relying on any information shown here.
